Coram’s National Theatre Project
Since October 2017 National Theatre has been running fortnightly workshops at Coram with 16-25 year olds from groups supported by Coram’s Young People programmes, developing the group’s voice, movement and public speaking skills, as well as giving them confidence to speak out in their roles as Coram ambassadors.
This summer the group are joining people from seven other charities across London to rehearse a large-scale musical adaption of Shakespeare’s Pericles. They will be performing alongside a cast of professional actors on the National’s Olivier stage at the end of August. Tickets for the show are sold out but look out for re-released tickets in the upcoming weeks: https://www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/shows/pericles.
The next term of workshops kick off in September 2018. This unique opportunity gives participants the chance to work with National Theatre facilitators to develop performance skills over two terms of workshops.
If you are a young parent; adopted; care experienced; or from migrant or refugee background and are interested in being part of this project, keep a look out on this page. We will be open for recruitment from August 2018.
The project is part of National Theatre’s Public Acts - a nationwide initiative to create extraordinary acts of theatre and community. If you’d like any more information about the project please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
