Coram-i and Engine sign partnership to develop AI solutions to improve services and outcomes for children and young people

  • 10 September 2024

Coram-i and the AI consultancy Engine have signed a formal collaboration agreement that will see the two organisations work together to develop bespoke AI solutions to transform organisations working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families.

Coram-i delivers expertise and resources designed to enable local authorities improve the outcomes they achieve for children, while Engine develops cutting-edge tools. The collaboration uses generative AI to facilitate the completion of time-consuming administrative tasks, while enabling professionals to focus on practice and empowering them with valuable data and insights.

As part of partnership, Coram-i and Engine have already launched the Coram-i Innovation Playbook. This advanced assistant uses generative AI to make verified evidence on the best emerging practices instantly accessible. The goal is to empower practitioners by maximising their capacity for reflective practice and enabling them to provide the best possible support to those in need.

Kevin Yong, head of Coram-i, said: ‘With this exciting new partnership, we aim to help local authorities and education providers find the best ways to safely take advantage of what AI has to offer so that children benefit just as much from these technological advances as adults. By automating time-consuming and complex processes, professionals would be able to spend vital relationship-building time with children and families.”

Neil Watkins, co-founder of Engine, said: “We’re thrilled to be teaming up with Coram. Our aim is always to develop AI tools that genuinely make a difference and are truly useful – this partnership means we can help more hard-pressed professionals spend less time on admin and more time supporting families who need their attention most. We want to make sure the non-profit sector benefits from the affordable, secure, AI because we know it can be such a powerful force for good.”

Coram-i will be hosting a webinar on Wednesday 18 September on the use of AI in education, children’s services and beyond. Book your place here.
