Brigid has worked tirelessly for more than 30 years to improve the lives of care experienced children and young people, making sure they always have a voice. She started working at the charity Voice (which later became Coram Voice) in 2003 and became the Managing Director in 2015. Brigid also heads up our young people’s programmes across Coram.
Brigid said: “I am stunned and delighted to receive this honour. Over the last 32 years I have been privileged to work with professionals who want to make the care system the best it can be, and care experienced children and young people whose resilience, creativity and desire to make the system better for others have inspired me every day.
“I hope their voices shine through and that we are able to take the opportunity now afforded by the Independent Review of Social Care to not just look after children in and leaving care, but to ensure that they flourish.”
