Women in property pedElle to Madrid

  • 22 June 2015

pedELLE ladies cycling for Coram through Spain on road next to sea25 women riders took on the challenge, travelling an incredible 450km (280 miles) from Bilbao in the north of Spain to the capital city of Madrid from the 10th-14th June.

Margaret McCulloch, Group Head of Fundraising and Business Development, said: “Chapeau and congratulations to the pedElle team on your fantastic cycling achievement through Spain!

“This is a considerable challenge that requires months of training, hard-work and dedication and we are so grateful that for the third year in a row, pedElle is generously donating two thirds of the funds they raise through this ride to Coram and our vital work with children in adoption.”

About pedElle

pedElle was founded by Jennifer Ross, Director at Tibbalds Planning and Urban Design, and Claire Treanor, former partner at DP9 Planning Consultants. Their aim was to encourage the involvement of women in cycling. After completing the famous CYCLE TO MIPIM – a 1,500km property industry charity ride from London to Cannes – both women were struck by how few women participated.

Cycling is perceived to be a male dominated sport and so pedElle has not only been an incredible challenge and achievement, but also a confidence builder – leading to an increased number of female riders in other cycling and CYCLE TO… events.

Since 2013, 55 pedElle ladies have cycled to both Paris and Venice raising money for Coram, the main beneficiary of CYCLE TO…, helping to transform the lives of the UK’s most vulnerable children through supporting Coram Adoption.

CYCLE TO… is Coram’s largest corporate partner to date, having raised over £500,000 for our vital work since 2012.
