Coram celebrates opening of new Pears Pavilion for Creative Therapies and Adoption Support

Pears Pavilion from frontNamed after its lead donor, the Pears Foundation, the purpose-built centre will be the new base for Coram’s renowned art and music therapies and adoption support. 

Coram offers these services to children in Camden schools and throughout London, including children who have been adopted through Coram and their families.

We are delighted that we were able to realise our dream of a new centre for creative therapies and adoption support and are hugely grateful to all of our donors, particularly our lead donor, the Pears Foundation.”

The Mayor of Camden and Carol Homden at Pears Pavilion. Trevor Pears CMG, Executive Chair of the Pears Foundation said: “Coram’s Creative Therapies and Adoption Support work are hugely significant because they impact on children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing, which we at the Pears Foundation are passionate about. We are truly impressed by Coram’s expertise in the field of adoption support and creative therapy and delighted that we could play a part in supporting vulnerable children and their families. The Pears Foundation is incredibly proud of the Pears Pavilion and to be associated with services which will touch the lives of some of London’s most vulnerable children.”

The Mayor of Camden, Councillor Lazzaro Pietragnoli, who also visited the centre, said: “Camden’s vision is to ensure that children in the borough have the best opportunities in life and achieve their full potential. The Pears Pavilion is a tremendous asset to the borough and we are delighted that it is here enabling greater numbers of children from both Camden and more widely throughout London to benefit from such transformational services as Creative Therapies and Adoption Support.”
