Coram holds its first-ever Christmas community event

  • 18 December 2014

Commencing in the afternoon with a repeat of the very popular Coram Historical Walk showcased in October, the evening continued with a swing thanks to carols played by the brilliant steel band, Pan Nation, and a multi-coloured lantern procession by children from the Thomas Coram Nursery. Guests enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies under twinkling lights and, at 17:39, Coram Chief Executive, Dr Carol Homden, CBE invited the assembled to view a beautiful and moving animation celebrating Coram’s 275th year of helping vulnerable children, which was projected onto the building.

The Founding Community Choir led the carol singing which continued in Brunswick Square. Rhian Fletcher, Coram’s Community Fundraiser said:  “This was our first Christmas event for the local community. We are delighted that it proved such a success and are delighted and grateful for the turnout and support.

If your local business, school, faith or community group is interested in supporting Coram’s work giving children better chances and brighter futures then please contact Rhian.fletcher@coram.org.uk to discuss visiting our historic campus and how you could help us support vulnerable children in 2015.
