Carina Tyrell is a student doctor and recently visited the Coram Campus in London with Miss World and Miss Wales as representatives of the Beauty with a Purpose charity. Julia Morley, Chairwoman of the Miss World Organisation was also present and the group met some of the Coram staff who work to shape better lives for vulnerable children.
During the visit, the Beauty with a Purpose charity presented a generous donation of £50,000 to Coram, which will go towards benefitting the lives of young people who need it the most.

Miss England said she was moved by her experience and has given some heartfelt words to the pledge wall:
“Being a student doctor, I am aware of how important it is to help children realise their potential. Coram makes such a difference, the work they do is fantastic and helps young people develop so that they can lead full lives.”
Miss World, Megan Young, and Miss Wales, Alice Ford, have also pledged in support of the vulnerable children that Coram works with, and you will be able to see their pledges on our wall in the coming weeks.
Since her visit, Carina Tyrrell has become increasingly involved with Coram, raising funds and attending events in order to show the support of the Beauty with a Purpose charity.
To see the pledge from Miss England, and the pledges of another 1,200 supporters who have signed their names in support of Coram on our 275th anniversary visit our pledge wall.
Coram children’s charity was founded in 1739 by Thomas Coram, appalled by the sight of babies being left to die on London’s streets. He founded the Foundling Hospital to give a chance to the abandoned children, and Coram continues his work today.
275 years on, Coram continues his work, helping one million children every year. Over 1,200 supporters have already signed our pledge for invisible children, including celebrity supporters, Peter Capaldi, Vivienne Westwood and Richard E. Grant, to name a few.
Please join them and sign our pledge wall in support of vulnerable children who desperately need our help.
