The figures, taken by the ADCS from local authorities in England, show a 45% increase in children placed for adoption in the year March 2012 to March 2013, showing considerable progress compared with an increase of 10% in children placed for adoption between March 2011 and March 2012.
The ADCS is a national association which shapes the delivery of services to children and young people, including adoption. It emphasised the importance of continuing to build working relationships between local authorities and voluntary adoption agencies.
Coram runs a leading voluntary adoption agency and works in partnership with adoption teams at Harrow, Kent, Cambridgeshire and Redbridge Council.

Coram, along with the ADCS, BAAF (British Association for Adoption and Fostering), CVAA (Consortium for Voluntary Adoption Agencies and Adoption UK, is a member of the government’s Adoption Implementation Group, which was set up to help shape and influence the government’s new adoption framework.
