Santas at the start lineThe sprightly santas raised over £6,000 to support Coram’s work with vulnerable children. Of those that ran 5km, the fastest came in at 26 minutes, with six santas opting to run the full 10km route.

Teams supporting Coram were from Mace, Thomas Sinden and Aberdeen Asset Management.

Des Thomas, Director of Thomas Sinden, said: “We wanted to show our appreciation and support for Coram’s work. Rather than simply give cash, we thought running the race would be a great gesture.

“Most of us are parents, so we want to support Coram’s work with vulnerable children.”

Colleague Craig Puncher said: “It was great fun – quite hot under the suit, but I managed to keep going. There was a great team spirit.”

Shirin Homawala, Interim Communications Manager at Mace, added, “It was brilliant to run for such a worthwhile cause – thank you all for your support.”

David Steadman, Coram’s Commercial Director, said: “We’re delighted that some of the UK’s most vulnerable children will benefit from the 2013 Santa Run, thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of the runners supporting Coram.

“Christmas can be a very difficult time for families, so it’s wonderful that so many people have decided to do something for those less fortunate.”

The 2013 Santa Run was organised by Skyline.
