Every child deserves to grow up with a supportive, loving home. Yet over 2,000 children in England are currently waiting to be adopted, and the latest statistics show that they’re waiting longer to find permanent families.

Coram has been creating better chances for children since we were founded in 1739. Today, one of the ways we do this is through finding adoptive families for children awaiting adoption. For over 50 years we have run a leading adoption agency, rated outstanding by Ofsted, finding homes for the most vulnerable children and providing lifelong support to all our adoptive families.

For over ten years, we have run our pioneering Adoption Activity Days. These events, which take place nationwide, enable the children waiting the longest to be adopted to meet with approved adopters in a fun and informal setting, to help boost the possibility of a match.

Over 1,400 children have been matched with a family they met at a Day.

If I had only read my son’s profile, instead of meeting him at the Activity Day, then I might have decided his needs were too great but as soon as I met him, I knew he was my son and he really is the perfect match for my family.”
