Every child and young person who comes into care needs to know why and have opportunities to discuss the reasons this happened whenever they feel unclear.

Our Bright Spots Insight Paper ‘Understanding why you are in care’ explains why this is important to children and young people and shares ideas and resources for how to support them with this.

Bright Spots Snapshot, Our Lives Our Care: looked after children’s views on their well-being in 2018

In 2018, Bright Spots produced a snapshot Our Lives Our Care: looked after children’s views on their well-being in 2018, based on what 2,684 children in care from 17 English local authorities told Coram Voice through the Your Life, Your Care survey in 2017/18.

It gives an insight into how children and young people in care really feel about their lives.

Think Siblings: findings from a national survey of adopters

Coram’s Impact and Evaluation team created an online survey for adopters in January 2017. The survey link was sent to adopters via Adoption UK, Coram and First4Adoption. There were 414 responses. All English regions were represented in the survey along with respondents living in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. This report presents the findings from the survey.
