Our Charter Patrons help us to achieve our mission of creating better chances for children, now and forever.
About Coram and our Charter Patrons
Our Charter Patrons are a committed group of supporters who pledge to donate £1,000 and above per year to ensure children have the love and opportunity they need to thrive.
Founded in 1739, Coram is the first and longest continuing children’s charity. We have evolved from the 18th century Foundling Hospital to become a dynamic group of specialist charities, supporting over 155,000 children, young people and families every year.
Coram champions children’s rights and wellbeing, making lives better through legal support, advocacy, adoption, and a range of therapeutic, educational and cultural programmes.
The event
Join us to find out how together we can create better chances for children at our Charter Patron reception on Tuesday 15 October 2024 from 6.30 to 8.30pm at the Foundling Museum in Bloomsbury, London WC1N 1AZ.
Learn about Coram’s long history through the Foundling Museum’s objects, stories and spaces. In the Museum, you will find three historic interiors recreated from the original Foundling Hospital building and enjoy its exquisite art collection including works by Hogarth (a patron of the Foundling Hospital), Gainsborough and Reynolds.
£1,000
can help us provide an advocate for three young care leavers to support them on the difficult transition to independence, to be there for them, when they have no one else to turn to
£3,500
funds adoption support for a child and their family for life
£5,000
could provide reading support to around 35 children helping them engage with their education and increasing their confidence and self-esteem
