Coram has been awarded funding from Department for Education’s Social Care Innovation Programme to work with four local authorities to help them make better use of data to improve the stability of long-term foster placements.
Renuka Jeyarajah-Dent, Director of Operations at Coram said:
“We are delighted to receive this innovation grant, which aims to promote the placement of children who cannot live at home with alternative families who can look after them for the long term. The project will focus on long term fostering and make sure that the best placement is actively pursued to best meet the needs of the child.”
By ensuring that appropriate permanency plans are decided without delay and, for children who will remain in care, foster families who can support them until they leave care and beyond are found as quickly as possible, the project aims to improve children’s well being and life chances.
