Coram-i has been working in partnership with Kent County Council since 2012, helping it to improve its adoption service from an inadequate Ofsted judgement (2011) to a Good judgement (2017).
Our support has been based on our improvement framework: effective data collection and analysis; robust performance management; and continuously looking at how the service can be improved. This was delivered through our managed-service approach.
In January 2016, Kent resumed management of its adoption service and the focus of our partnership turned to developing further our innovative post-adoption support partnership. Kent’s Post Adoption Support Team (PAST) brings together Kent social workers and Coram clinicians to provide a multi-disciplinary service that works within a psychodynamic developmental therapeutic approach (Conway & Ginkell, 2014) combined with a systemic approach to provide meaningful placement support, a range of therapeutic groups and an ambitious learning and development programme.
