This report was written as part of a study conducted jointly by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, UNICEF Kazakhstan, and Coram International.
After a 2007 Presidential Decree to establish pilot Specialized Inter-district Courts on Issues of Minors, and another in 2012 to provide for the scaling up of SICIMs, Coram International provided in 2014-5 technical assistance to this project, in assessing and documenting the development of SICIMs in the country, determining the extent to which current practices implement international standards, and making recommendations to further strengthen the SICIMs.
