Justice for Children: Juvenile Crime and Juvenile Justice Practice in Kosovo

This 2008 report presents research findings from a study of the juvenile justice system in Kosovo.

The research for this study took place in Kosovo between June and December 2007, with the aims of collecting baseline data to analyse the rate and nature of juvenile offending in Kosovo; undertaking a thorough analysis of the implementation of the juvenile justice system in Kosovo, and in particular, the implementation of the Juvenile Justice Code 2004; and providing recommendations on how the juvenile justice system could be strengthened.

Both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods were used in the study, including collecting raw and collated quantitative data from juvenile justice institutions and conducting semi-standardised qualitative interviews with professions in the juvenile justice system.
