Learning from Research: RCT Model of creative life story work for LA

Life Story Work (LSW) is the process of helping people to remember and make sense of their early lives. It can help children who have been separated from their birth family to understand their past, and come to terms with the present circumstances and what has happened to them along the way. This session discusses the results and implications of recent research on the topic.

In this lunchtime webinar, Coram Voice will share some of the key learning from the Bright Spots programme which has helped 80 local authorities across the UK to listen to what makes life good for more than 24,000 care-experienced children and young people.

CCLC provide training for social work teams, IROs, advocates, personal advisers, NGOs and other frontline practitioners. We can also tailor any of our full day training, or provide separate training to cover other areas – for example healthcare, access to education & EU rights.

This open course will enable participants to explore best practice in the facilitation of ongoing life story work which will enable children’s and young people’s understanding of their past, acceptance of their present and hopefulness about the future.
