Coram Pledge Wall Terms and Conditions
Coram launched a Pledge Wall for the charity’s 275th anniversary year. The Pledge Wall has been archived and its contents are held securely for the retention period in line with our Data Protection and Privacy Policy.
Disputes
Any disputes arising out of these terms and conditions will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales (or the laws of Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there). If you choose to bring proceedings in connection with the terms you must do so in the courts of England and Wales unless you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in which case you can choose to bring proceedings there.

1. What is Online Privacy?
Online privacy is how your personal data might be collected, stored or processed when visiting our website. Coram respects your privacy and recognises how important it is that your personal information remains secure. Our goal is to be open and transparent about any personal data we collect, how it is used, and how it is shared.

2. What information does Coram collect about me and how is it obtained?
We may collect information whenever you choose to interact with us. This can be done in many ways such as when you register with us for one of our services or events, subscribe to our newsletter, donate to us, purchase something online, apply for a job or volunteering opportunity, or otherwise provide us with your personal details. We may also receive information about you from third parties but only if you have given them permission to share your information.
3. How does Coram use my information?
We will use your personal information with your consent, for legitimate purposes or other bases of legal processing outlined under the GDPR or PECR. We will process your information for reasons including, but not limited to, providing you with the services, products or information you have requested, for administration purposes, in order to comply with financial regulations and the law, and to further our charitable aims.
In order to do this, we may need to share your information within the Coram Group, or associated organisations and agents. We will not swap or sell your data to any third parties for marketing purposes.
Where stated, we may use the personal information you provide to contact you in future about the work of the Coram Group. The information which we collect in this way will typically include your name, postal and/or email addresses, and your bank details if you are supporting us financially.
We may analyse the personal information we collect about you and add other publicly available information to create a profile of your interests, preferences and level of potential donations so that we can contact you in the most appropriate way and with the most relevant information.
4. How secure is the information which I give to Coram?
Coram takes the care of your data seriously and protects your personal information in a range of ways. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. These measures include the use of secure servers, firewalls and SSL encryption. Online payments are processed for Coram by Frontstream and Paypal who follow payment card industry (PCI) security compliance guidelines when processing credit card payments. We do not store any credit card details that are provided when making a payment online.
However, please be aware that the transmission of information over the Internet is never 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information you submit to us via our website. We will inform you within 72 hours if there has been a breach to your personal information.
5. How does Coram use ‘Cookies’?
A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. 7. Does Coram share my information with anyone else?
The personal information we collect about you will mainly be used by our staff (and volunteers) at Coram so that we can support you or provide the service(s) you have requested.
Coram will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission, are acting in legitimate interests (specified at the point of data collection) or are required to do so by law. We will never sell or share your personal information with organisations so that they can contact you for any marketing activities. Nor do we sell any information about your web browsing activity.
We may, however, share your personal data with trusted third parties who work with us or on our behalf to deliver our services. Here’s the policy we apply to those organisations to keep your data safe and protect your privacy:

• They may only use your data for the exact purposes we specify in our agreement with them.

We aim to issue an initial response to all enquiries within five working days, and will offer a full response to all information access requests within forty working days of receipt. It will help us locate your records more easily if you can tell us something about the nature of your contact with Coram.
9. How can I make changes to the information that Coram holds about me?
If your personal details change, please help us to keep your information up to date by notifying us at dataprotection@coram.org.uk. It will help us to update your information quickly if you include your full name and address and/or supporter number (if known), together with details of the correction to be made.
10. How long will Coram keep my information?
How long we keep your information depends on the purpose of data processing. Details of this can be found at the point of data collection, in emails or by emailing dataprotection@coram.org.uk.
If you cease to have an active relationship with us or request to receive no further contact, we may retain some basic information in order to avoid sending you unwanted materials in the future, and to ensure that we don’t accidentally duplicate information.
Under GDPR you do have the right to be forgotten – whereby the personal data we hold about you will be deleted from our systems. Please note that if you choose to be forgotten the products and services Coram can provide you becomes limited.
11. How do I limit or stop receiving messages from Coram?
You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information by following the opt-in and opt-out instructions on any online form or email you might receive from us or by emailing supportercare@coram.org.uk or calling us on 020 7520 0330. If you have previously agreed to us using your personal information for direct marketing purposes, you may change your mind at any time.

12. What are my rights over my personal data?
We want to ensure you remain in control of your personal data. Part of this is making sure you understand your legal rights.

- Ask us what information we hold about you – and be given that information (usually free of charge).
